"Walking with Jesus"...an on-going project!

I've been working on my new CD, "Walking with Jesus", for several weeks.  This week, my last at home in TX in what will be over a month, I've worked almost day and night to get this CD sent off for publishing!  I leave tomorrow morning for TN & parts beyond in the East and Southeast, so it won't be as easy to finish up this project.  So...I'm asking the Lord to prevent any more technology & software glitches, those things that prolong the length of a project for me so many times.

I'm looking forward to having "Walking with Jesus" available for all of you...especially you walkers!  This CD is at a tempo of 2 mph, so you can listen to this familiar music while you walk, exercise, clean house, mow the lawn....  It should be complete & available for purchase in 2 or 3 weeks.  I'll be letting you know via this blog as well as my ministry Facebook public page.

I'm finally home again!

I'm finally back home in TX tonight after being gone since the first of June!  Appreciated the Duncan BMC campmeeting in early June.  Went straight from camp to Woodward, OK with my brother, Doug's, family.  Got to help my niece, Amanda, finish up World Literature.  They'll be leaving soon for Papua New Guinea (PNG), so I'm glad I got to help out as well as enjoy being with their family.  I also had the joy of babysitting my great-nephew, Samuel Perry!  He's 7 months old now & learning something new, it seems, every day.  Well, I'm gonna sit back, relax & enjoy being at home for a couple or so weeks before I head out again!  Blessings on all!

A Scare with Daddy's Heart!

We had a high blood pressure scare yesterday with Daddy while he was at work. He was able to see his heart dr today who added some meds, made some changes, ran an EKG. Daddy'll have a stress test tomorrow morning early. I've been askin' the Lord to keep Daddy's heart goin'. I'm not ready to lose my daddy... actually, I'll NEVER be ready to lose him.

My heart goes out to those of you who've already lost your dads. I know this month with Father's Day must be very hard. May God hold you!

Illinois, Iowa...now Home in Texas!

Headed to Illinois on a road trip with my nieces & nephew-in-law on Monday evening, May 14.  Stayed for a few days in Mt. Vernon, IL, then headed to Rock Island, IL for my niece, Linda (McCasland) Harner's, graduation from BMI.  I'm so proud of her!

Was privileged to stay for several for much of 2 weeks with my dear friends, the Pettits: Larry, Liz & Missy...& Roxie, their little dog!  We had great times visiting, attending services at the church they pastor in Davenport, IA.  Enjoyed delicious meals, shopping with "the girls" (Liz & Missy), "tours" of Davenport where we got to stop for awhile by the Mississippi River locks, listened to children's stories with Missy, had some delicious treats at some local fast food stops, toured the assisted care facility where Missy works & met some of her favorite friends there...& lots more memories we made together.  Thanks, Pettits, for once again hosting me.  I always thoroughly enjoy visiting ya'll!

Got to be parts of 3 days with my niece, Mary Lauritzen, and her family in Monmouth, IL.  Their daughter, Emily, graduated from high school in a lovely ceremony at the church they pastor there.  Then their oldest, Abigail, was married the day after the graduation.  It was my honor to play for both occasions & get to help some with the preparations for each.  We had a great time together!

I was booked to fly American Airlines home to Texas this past Wednesday, May 30.  I found out after I got to the airport that the flights to Dallas were cancelled due to bad weather.  The airline rescheduled me to fly the next day, Thursday, so Liz Pettit & I ended up spending a "sister-chicks" day together.  We ate lunch at Olive Garden then shopped all afternoon.  It was so much fun!!  I got to attend their Wednesday night prayer meeting, so that was a great benefit of getting delayed.  We got "free" pie at Village Inn after the service.  A pretty great Wednesday night bargain the restaurant runs...free slice of pie with any purchase.  It was one of our several spontaneous "excursions" while I stayed with Pettits.

My flights were great yesterday, Thursday.  Please pray for Tyler, a soldier boy I sat by from Dallas to Lubbock.  He's stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM.  He & 9 other soldiers (special ops commandos...according to the big banner in Lubbock airport welcoming them home) were on my flight.  Their wives & sweethearts were at the airport en masse to welcome them home from a mission.  I thanked Tyler for serving our country to keep us free & told him I'd be praying for him & ask my church to pray for him, too.  If Tyler comes to your mind, please lift him to the Lord in prayer.  Who knows what his needs are, but Jesus knows them all & God does answer prayer!

It's good to be home now for awhile.  I'm glad to get to visit with my parents when they're home from work.  It's a privilege to have a home with my parents!

I'll be posting some photos from my trip in the next few days.  Be on the outlook for those.  Also, although I tried several different ways to be able to work on & complete my new recording, "Walking with Jesus", while on this trip, nothing worked out.  So...please be praying for me throughout this next week that the Lord will quicken my mind, that all the technology involved will work properly, & that I'll have "Walking with Jesus" sent off to the manufacturers by next Friday.

Surgery update for Samuel

I'm at the OU Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City with Samuel & Lynnette. Samuel did very well in surgery & has done well since coming out of recovery. The doctors drained 3 oz. or so of pus from the large lump, leaving a drain in that will probably stay in for 2 or 3 days. He was very alert when they brought him back to his room. Was able to drink Pedialyte right away & then some formula. He seems to have some pain, but he's been relatively content & happy, even smiling & "talking" to us & the nurses. He'll be in the hospital until the drs are certain the infection is gone. Thanks for still praying!
