Concert in Brent, AL -- September 11, Sunday, 10:45 AM

I'll be playing a concert for the Brent, AL Bible Methodist Church on Sunday morning, September 11, at 10:45 am.  The pastor & his wife, John & Brenda Bartolomeo, are my long-time friends.

Brenda is an incredibly gifted violinist & will be playing a few songs with me.  Some of you may have attended a Christmas concert in the past when Brenda & I were doing some duet concerts.  It will be great to meet new friends in Brent & be with my friend, Brenda, again.

The church address is 210 4th Street, Brent, AL  If you need further directions, you can call the parsonage phone: 205-926-7635.

Faith Community Chapel -- Thomasville, NC

I had a great time at the concert last night. It was nice meeting the Wetheralds for the 1st time. I loved the grand piano.  It made it so much fun to be creative. I enjoyed meeting new people.

As often happens, I met people who knew some of my relatives or friends.  I love the way God's people are connected.  As Edith Shaffer writes in her family autobiography, Tapestry, God's people are like threads making God's tapestry.  Sometimes, our threads interwine for a long time.  Sometimes, just one meeting.  Maybe we interwine threads again or maybe never; but we're inextricably connected to make a beautiful tapestry--a work of God's art!

Thanks, Sylvia (she's a for-real photographer!), for takin' some shots of my concert last night.  And...for doing some photo stuff for me while I've been with ya'll!

I have a pretty dorky-lookin' face here...but good photography by Sylvia.  You just can't change a pig's ear into silk!

You can see a little more of the beautiful sanctuary at Faith Community Chapel.  And all of the beautiful piano that played so wonderfully.  Love the touch!

Another Kathy expression!

Where in the world is KATHY?

This is a self-"portrait" (!) in the Memphis airport.  An older couple came along & had pity on me...the little guy took a different photo for me.

C.H. & Suzie Hutchison met me at the Nashville airport when I got in @ 10A.  We ate a delicious morning meal at IHOP...Suzie & I, that is.  C.H.'s order was taken by a different waiter & served to a different customer.  So...to hold body & soul together, after we'd run by the church for me to get the "feel" of the piano, we stopped @ Walmart for some things & C.H. got a McD's "ham-burjer".  Just a little craziness along the way!

When I checked out @ Walmart, I asked the cashier if she attended a church in this area.  She said she did.  I told her I'd wanted to invite her to come hear me play tomorrow morning at the First Church of the Nazarene here in Columbia, TN.  She said, "Do you mean you're a concert pianist?"  "Yes," I replied, "I am."  She grabbed some small envelope there by the cash register & handed it to me with a pen for my autograph!  "That's so I can tell people I actually met a concert pianist here at work!"  She said she might come anyway.  Nothin' like bein' a nobody-"celebrity"!  I'm thinking I'm going to have alot of laughs along this Christmas Concert Tour trail before I get back home on Dec. 23!

Thanks for praying for me.  I really need the Lord to give me rest & strength tonight, so I can play the way He wants me to in the morning.

Preliminary Christmas Tour Itinerary

Today has been busy, busy working on the Christmas 2010 Tour.  I do have some venues confirmed & will get concert info for each stop posted here & on Facebook in the next few days.  I'm finding myself getting into my own, little Christmas spirit...working this much on the tour!  A little Christmas all year long...nothin' wrong with that!

Here are the dates & cities I have so far:
COLUMBIA, TN --- Sunday AM, Nov. 28.
THOMASVILLE, NC --- Thursday PM, Dec. 2 (I'm excited re: the tea party on Friday!  Thank you, Roberta!)
SPARTANBURG, SC --- Sunday AM, Dec. 5.
EASLEY, SC --- Sunday PM, Dec. 5.
LEWISTON, ID --- Sunday PM, Dec. 19.

I'm already working on a late winter concert tour (Feb., maybe late Jan. & into Mar.??) in Florida.  My new friend, Esther Miller, is helping me immensely.  I already have a confirmed concert in her church in Summerfield, FL for Feb. 2, Wed. PM.

SO...If you're interested in a concert in your locale, contact me right away.  I'll do my best to include you into my schedule.  It's not too early to ask me about dates even later in 2011.

It's a good thing I love to travel, huh?!!  Thank YOU, Lord!

Christmas Tour Itinerary

I've been working on my Christmas Tour itinerary the past 2 or 3 weeks.  Several churches have already confirmed concert dates, but a few are still getting back to me.  I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones this Christmas.  If you'd like for me to give a Christmas concert or an evening of sacred music at your church or event this year, notify me ASAP in order to get on my itinerary.  You can email or call me for further details and/or promotional materials.  Blessings on your Sunday!
