Sight-seeing in Phoenix with my friend, Edna!

Here are some photos of beautiful, flowering plants by a gas station where we got fuel.  Enjoy all the shots of ghost town buildings in the area.  The white chapel is reputedly the one where Elvis Presley shot some movie.  You'll enjoy seeing town shots plus surrounding scenery shots of the ghost town, Goldfield.  Welcome aboard the tour train!

My friend & tour guide, Edna Walkinshaw.

Welcome to GOLDFIELD, ARIZONA!

Christmastime in Thomasville/Lexington, North Carolina

Roberta Miller & her girls had a fun, Christmasy day planned for us.  Esther & I were the out-of-towners getting to experience some of the local Christmas traditions for the first time!
First, we went to the Lexington Tea House for the real deal.  What a neat place!  Esther & I both got the Christmas Tea.  The others got different tea menus.  Roberta let me sample her pumpkin soup--my 1st time to ever eat any.

Since I love to wear hats so much, I "conned" the rest of the girls into wearing hats for a photo op.  Our waitress helped us by taking some shots for us.

Cute decor by the windows.

After we did some clothes shopping, we went to the Charity League's "Holiday House".  This is a local, historical home whose owners decorate for Christmas then allow any visitors for an Open House.  When we showed our tickets outside the home, we were each given a large pamphlet with details of the interesting historical & design facts for each room of the house.

This house is owned by a couple with 2 young girls & a little boy who isn't 1 yr. yet.  Take a look at some of the shots I got.  They can't really give you the complete picture of what we saw, but you'll enjoy seeing some of the interesting decorating techniques.

Thanks, Miller girls (ladies, BIG girls!!), for sharing this event with Esther & me!

Fun at the David Miller House!

I'm having a "blast" with these wonderful, new friends--David & Roberta Miller, their adult daughters--Julie, Lydia & Sylvia, plus David's sister from Summerfield, FL--my new friend, Esther Miller!  We all love to have fun, and we've had lots of laughs.

Esther had read about the TN cashier wanting my autograph right there in the Walmart check-out line.  She told the Millers about it before I arrived Wednesday, so they'd joked about having Sylvia maybe come up to me & ask for my autograph in the airport.  They didn't do it, but we've had alot of fun with the "autograph" thing.  After the concert, before David got home from work, Sylvia had an 8x10 b&w photo of me that I autographed to David.  We set the framed photo on the kitchen counter & waited to see what he'd say when he saw it.  We really laughed about it!

David Miller & our happy waitress @ Waffle House
After David got home, most of us decided to run into Thomasville for something to eat.  We got some great pecan waffles at the Waffle House & had lots of laughs with the wait staff there.  Our waitress asked for our help tying her tie, so David did the honors.  It was a great photo op!
