Nashville, USA

It was great meeting lots of new friends yesterday morning at First Church of the Nazarene, Columbia, TN.  Thank you, Pastor Steve, for allowing me to help "kick off" your church's Christmas celebrations.  The responsive audience pulled the "play" out in me!

Pastor & Mrs. Steve B. with Kathy
After a very delicious lunch with C.H. & Susie Hutchison, in their home, they so kindly drove me up here to Nashville (Madison, actually).  It was a clear, beautiful day for the hour or so drive.  I really appreciate Eddie & Esther Day letting me drop in on them.

How nice to see old friends at the Nashville BMC last night.  Friends are friends forever...it's really true!!...when the Lord's the Lord of them.  Thank God for friends!  I'm excited to reconnect with old ones & meet lots of new ones!

Please pray for the Betty Lail family! She passed away this morning.

My sister-in-law, Deb's (my middle brother, Greg's wife), mother passed away this morning after many years of ill health and very low days these past weeks.  She was a sweet lady, and I know her husband, children & grandchildren are heartbroken & lonely tonight.

Please hold them all up in your prayers.  Thanks for sharing this sorrow with me...mourning with those who mourn.

Where in the world is KATHY?

This is a self-"portrait" (!) in the Memphis airport.  An older couple came along & had pity on me...the little guy took a different photo for me.

C.H. & Suzie Hutchison met me at the Nashville airport when I got in @ 10A.  We ate a delicious morning meal at IHOP...Suzie & I, that is.  C.H.'s order was taken by a different waiter & served to a different customer.  So...to hold body & soul together, after we'd run by the church for me to get the "feel" of the piano, we stopped @ Walmart for some things & C.H. got a McD's "ham-burjer".  Just a little craziness along the way!

When I checked out @ Walmart, I asked the cashier if she attended a church in this area.  She said she did.  I told her I'd wanted to invite her to come hear me play tomorrow morning at the First Church of the Nazarene here in Columbia, TN.  She said, "Do you mean you're a concert pianist?"  "Yes," I replied, "I am."  She grabbed some small envelope there by the cash register & handed it to me with a pen for my autograph!  "That's so I can tell people I actually met a concert pianist here at work!"  She said she might come anyway.  Nothin' like bein' a nobody-"celebrity"!  I'm thinking I'm going to have alot of laughs along this Christmas Concert Tour trail before I get back home on Dec. 23!

Thanks for praying for me.  I really need the Lord to give me rest & strength tonight, so I can play the way He wants me to in the morning.

Kathy in the Stagecoach

My friend, Edna Walkinshaw, took this pic of me at a small ghost town gathering of buildings not too far from Goldfield--there in the Phoenix area.  I'm sitting inside a stagecoach.  Even have my stone-washed denim blouse on--well, how else would the pioneers have gotten their durable denim clothing clean except by using river rocks?

En Route to Phoenix Revival

What a cool thing this free-internet-thing is here at my gate in DFW Airport!  Gives me just enough time to send my promo pak via email to a few people then give you all an update on "Where in the world is Kathy Zink?"!!

My brother, Bryan Shields, got to Phoenix late last night, and I should be arriving there around 9:30 this morning.  We are both excited to see what God's gonna do for us and the dear people at the Pilgrim Nazarene Church in Mesa, AZ.  Bryan's the evangelist, and I'll do the music.  Pray that God's perfect will shall be accomplished completely!

Tonight, Bryan & I will do a 45-min. vocal & instrumental concert at the church.  Bro. Charles Boardman & Sis. Arlene, his precious wife, tell me there will be food & fellowship around a bonfire after this service.  Lookin' forward to that!

Pray for this revival.  Pray for strength for the Boardmans, Bryan and me.  Pray that we will correctly discern the will of God for our individual part in this revival.

Over and out!
